Artisan or Handmade Soap Process and Ingredients
What's in your handmade soap?
We use a foundation recipe of gentle oils and butters: Olive, Rice Bran, Castor, Coconut and Shea Butter, Mango Butter & Cocoa Butter. Soaps. To increase the moisturizing ability of our soaps we sometimes add Shea, Cocoa, & Mango butters (we have about multiple fragrances of Shea soaps). These three levels of moisture will take care of most skin types. We make 100% Olive Oil or what we refer to in the soap world as Castile soap.
Are we a company that test on animals?
No, we never test our products on animals.
Does Nola’s Soapery use Palm oil for Soap Making?
We do not use Palm Oil at all in our soap products, lotions, detergents, body moisturizers, Shea butters, lip balm, wax melts, candles. Etc.. We are 100% Palm Oil Free.
Do you use any animal products in your soaps?
Yes, we do. We use goat milk in so many of our soaps, and make we do not use lard, pig fat, beef tallow in any of our products. All other soaps are plant/vegetable based and contain no animal fat content what so ever. products.
Is Nola’Soapery a "cruelty free" brand?
We do not test soap or use any harmful ingredients on animals of any kind. We believe that our family, friends, neighbors and customers are able to give us here at Nola’sSoapery.com all the feedback we need to make a great combination or ingredients to supply to our customers who potentially become our new soap family.
Allergies and Sensitivities Skin to Fragrances
I'm allergic to fragrance - Do we carry soap for you?
Absolutely, we carry all different kinds of soap that do not have any fragrance components. These soaps are 100 fragrance free. We carry 100% Olive Oil – (Castile Soap). As well as we are able to accommodate customers with unscented products, but please be mindful that the soaps themselves aroma will carry a more distinct smell from the natural elements, or let’s say raw goats’ milk, buttermilk, cocoa powder, oatmeal. When these ingredients are combined together, they form a more fragrant smell to the nose. It creates a pure natural element and supple result for the skin.
I have sensitive skin and can't use most soaps. Will I be able to use yours?
Yes, most likely you will be able to use our soaps because they are incredibly mild and gentle. We are not aware of anyone who is unable to use our soaps. If you have allergies to fragrance, then we suggest you either select scents derived from 100% natural 'Essential Oils' or an unscented soap. We make multiple soaps using essential oils, plant base, vegetable based and also make an unscented version of every soap we can make especially just for you.
What's the best way for someone with sensitive skin to try your products?
The best way for you to test our products is to wet a small spot on the skin and dampen it with water and create a test spot. A small diameter and see if you skin react to the ingredients in the soap provided. If this occurs please discontinue use of the product immediately. If you've experienced problems with other products, we recommend that you start with our unscented soaps and test yourself. If you are pleased with our unscented soap, but really want to have a scented soap, then try one of our soaps scented with a natural essential oil.
Soap Bar Size
What's the size of your soap?
Our soaps range in size from 3-4 ounces up to 8-9 ounces per bar. Be mindful each that each size may sometime change in weight slightly and color. Once the soap is wet it will continue to shrink and expand by the moisture provided from the water applied.
How long does a bar of your soap typically last?
Most of our customers say a bar of our soap lasts them between 7-10 days. This is based on normal use. If you're lathering up multiple times because leaving it under water it will dissolve extremely quickly than it was suppose to and you will need to purchase more of the products at a much faster rate.
What is the "white powder or sprinkle texture" on top of some of your bars?
Occasionally, you may see some white stuff on top of our soaps. This is called 'soda ash' and is a harmless substance that forms when air reaches a batch of soap in its first 24 hours of life. You are most likely to see it on our peppermint soaps, and on batches made on especially humid days. It will rinse off the first time you use the soap.
How long does your Soap hold its fragrance?
Our handmade soap although handmade soaps usually get better with age, we recommend using our soaps within 12 months of purchase. Our scented soaps should be used within 3 months after removing them from the box/wrap. Although the soaps will not be "spoiled" after that time, you may notice some changes that come with using natural soap, like color, shape, etc..
What is the best way to store our soap or other products.
The best way to maintain the soap that you have purchased is to buy a soap dish and store it in a dry place. Artisan/ Handmade soap is very smooth to the touch once it has been wet. So, in order to maintain its shelf life please place it in the soap dish and it will last a lot longer. Let your soap dry out between uses, by putting your soap on some kind of a soap dish that allows air to circulate around the bar.
Can I Order by Phone?
Yes, you can order by phone. But I make it my duty to receive calls for bulk orders of 100 or more order and private labeling.
Can I Order by Mail?
Yes. If you go all the way through Checkout, shipping will be calculated for you to your zip code, so you will know the exact amount for shipping and therefore the total amount to make your check out for. Submit your order online after checking that you will pay via mail order and personal check, and we'll prepare your order and wait for your check. You will have the option of sending in your mail order.
What are your business hours?
Our Online Store operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
How long shipping and delivery?
Your orders are processed the next business day and your order we be received within 3-4 days.
Once my order has shipped can track my order?
Yes, you can you can provide your information located on NolasSoapery.com, click Track order and put in your USPS #, and your demographics for the most accurate projections from the Tracking system.
What kind of Credit Cards can I use?
You can use Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.
Will you ship to International Locations?
We have no problem shipping internationally just be mindful that once you place an order for international orders, the price for shipping and handling increase’s drastically and I would recommend any orders over $50.00 needs to have a specified postage on it for prompt delivery and tracking purposes. Please go through checkout and provide your international address, and our shopping cart will calculate the various shipping options available to you, along with the associated charges.
Can I pay COD?
No, we do not accept COD payment for individual retail orders
Do you take PayPal?
Yes, we do accept PayPal and Pay Pay Express Checkout. At this time but those options are subject to change with other factors included. The option to pay using PayPal will appear during the checkout process.
Do you accept checks?
NO, we do not accept checks via mail order or online at this time.
Do I need to create an account to buy from your store?
No, you do not need to set up an account. It will make checking a breeze and also provide you with discounts and bonuses. It will also allow you to create your own order history for easy re-orders, discount points, wish lists and easier checkouts in the future.
What is your return policy?
Each case is under individual concern and review. Please contact our customer support team or via-email immediately for any product that was shipped incorrectly. As far as shipping cost go, they are non-refundable a customized/specialty order item. You will also need an authorization return slip before we can proceed with any other accommodations.

My order was damaged in shipping. What do I need to do?
Please contact us immediately to let us know what happened, and we'll arrange for you to return the damaged item(s) to us. We will review each order individually and free of charge including shipping with a return label.
